Adventure Games: Progression You Can Feel
Adventure is the genre for players who want a session to leave a mark. Publisher descriptions may mention levels cleared, areas opened, abilities unlocked or a map that fills in; neither an Adventure nor an Arcade label determines which progress is retained. The reward is not a higher number on a leaderboard but the sense that the world is smaller and more known than it was an hour ago.
The catalogue does not measure session length or establish where a game saves progress. A level or checkpoint is not proof of persistence after closing a tab. If a publisher documents browser-local storage, clearing that data may remove it; otherwise storage, cross-device transfer and private-window behavior remain unverified.
Movement themes do not determine the input device. Racing Ball Adventure lists Arrow keys, NinjaRoof lists keyboard or touch, and the platformer Obby Blox Hook lists mouse or touch to hook. These supplied alternatives do not establish performance or compatibility on a particular phone.
If you are picking an adventure game for a short window of time, look at whether it is level-based or continuous. A level boundary may offer a stopping point, but neither level-based nor continuous play establishes a duration, pause support or retained progress. Check those properties separately; do not assume a level takes only a few minutes.
